April Fool’s Day (April 1)

This is a guaranteed fan favorite holiday to have on your workplace events calendar. Lots of companies pull fun pranks on their customers to create a moment of unexpected delight. Dream up a ridiculous brand extension or an out-of-this-world announcement and post it on your company’s social media accounts. To go the extra mile, you can also figure out a lighthearted prank to pull on your employees. Maybe a company-wide announcement that you’re pivoting the business to a new crazy vertical or that you’re rebranding into a company name that no one can pronounce?

National Volunteer Week (third week of April)

There are so many great ways to celebrate National Volunteer Week. Give your employees a day off of work this week to volunteer at a charity of their choice. Or, choose an organization that your company stands behind and organize a day where your whole team can volunteer together. Not only are you doing good, but this will also be a special team building moment where memories are sure to be created.

Earth Day (April 22)

Every April 22nd, people around the world celebrate Mother Earth. Including Earth Day on your workplace events calendar is a great way to get your employees involved in caring for the environment. Host an Earth Day volunteer day where you help pick up trash in a nearby neighborhood or help take care of animals at a local animal shelter. For remote teams, you can host a virtual Earth Day trivia session - create some laughter amongst the team while spreading awareness about Mother Nature.

Administrative Professionals’ Day (Last Wednesday in April)

Our administrative professionals or administrative assistants are the ones who truly keep things running. They’re the ones that make the magic happen and ensure that everything is kept on track. Make sure you celebrate them to thank them for all of their hard work by adding Administrative Professionals’ Day to your workplace events calendar! Give your admin a day off of work or a gift card to their favorite restaurant. Also, don’t forget that a thoughtful handwritten note goes a long way as well.

Take Our Children to Work Day (Fourth Thursday in April)

Children love seeing what their parents do, and co-workers also love meeting their colleague’s ones! This is a great day to help inspire the minds of the youngest generation. Invite all parents to bring their kids to work, and host a breakfast or lunch where everyone can meet each other. During the afternoon, you can have the kids split up into smaller groups to shadow a few different roles or host an interactive presentation where they can experience firsthand what working at your company is like.
