September 2023 Workplace Holidays

September 2023 workplace holidays to include on your 2023 workplace events calendar

  1. National Food Bank Day

  2. Labor Day

  3. Hispanic Heritage Month

  4. Voter Registration Day

  5. National Coffee Day

National Food Bank Day (first Friday in September)

Observe this holiday on your workplace events calendar by organizing a food drive at work. Let employees know about the day and set up a collection station for cans and other shelf-stable items at the front of the office entrance. At the end of the day, you can let all employees know how much they donated and what a big impact they made on the community.

Labor Day (first Monday in September)

Labor Day is an annual event that recognizes the achievements and contributions of workers in the United States. It’s a federal holiday where your employees will have the day off of work, and they can enjoy a long weekend as the summer season comes to a close. You can celebrate with your employees in the week leading up to Labor Day with a fun happy hour to kick off the long weekend.

Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15)

Every year, from September 15 to October 15, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans. Including Hispanic Heritage Month on your 2023 workplace events calendar is an amazing opportunity to make your Hispanic and Latinx employees feel celebrated, whether through an interactive game opportunity (we have a special Hispanic Heritage Month-themed trivia game!) or learning about Hispanic cuisine through a cooking class.

Voter Registration Day (fourth Tuesday in September)

The right to vote is a fundamental right in the United States. Give your employees time this day to go and get registered to vote! This is also a great time to share resources for how they can vote nearby in their local county.

National Coffee Day (September 29)

For so many people, enjoying coffee is a key part of their daily routine. You can brighten their days by providing free coffee at the office for National Coffee Day. For those who work remotely, send them a gift card to Starbucks so that they can enjoy a pick-me-up treat.
