7 Ways To Improve Your Company’s Virtual Culture
More companies are going virtual than ever before, and getting the most out of your employees and building a successful culture can be difficult if you are all connecting from different places. You may not be able to easily go on a company retreat or make small talk around the water cooler, but that doesn’t mean that your company culture has to suffer because of it. Below, we share a number of different and creative ways that you can improve your company’s virtual culture and have fun doing it.
Celebrate Birthdays, Promotions and Company Anniversaries
Show your employees that their milestones are worthy of recognition and celebration! When someone has a birthday or hits a big milestone with the company, spread the word. An email blast or a virtual celebration on a Friday afternoon are great ways to show your employees that their achievements don’t go unnoticed.
Schedule Team Building Activities
Regularly schedule team building activities so that employees can come together and work with one another for the betterment of the team. It could be something as simple as a virtual brainstorming session at the same time each week, or you can schedule larger events each month or quarter. We have companies that book us each quarter to run a virtual game for their employees as a way of saying thanks and challenging them to work together to solve a problem. Since you can’t always get together for these events if your company connects online, it makes sense to run virtual team building activities as well, and trivia is a wonderful and easy option!
Have Lunch Over Zoom
You may not be able to physically eat lunch in the same break room, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t eat lunch with one another. Set up a Zoom and have lunch together! Consider doing it on the last Friday of every month or at some other regularly scheduled interval so people always know when it’s coming up and can prepare accordingly. And if you want to go the extra mile for your team, let Bar None Games help cater the lunch! We can assist with food and drink deliveries to make the lunch a little more special.
Share Your Workday Playlist
Do you rock out to tunes while you work? Many people have a go-to Pandora or Spotify playlist, so encourage your team to share their playlist with the group. Maybe a co-worker’s playlist will help you be more productive, or you’ll just find a few songs that you’ll want to add to your morning run. Speaking of adding songs to your playlist, if you enjoyed any of the songs that we’ve played during music rounds of our trivia games, just shoot us a message and we can direct you to the song or the playlist we grabbed it from!
Get Up And Moving By Creating Team Fitness Goals
Find a way to motivate your team to hit certain fitness goals to help themselves or others. Everyone may not be on board to try a collective weight loss challenge, but there are plenty of other ways to encourage everyone to be active. Donate a set amount of money to a charity based on how many miles people walk in a given time period. Let the group decide where the money goes, or let whoever walks the most pick the charity from an approved list. Find ways to encourage and reward your team for working together to hit certain fitness goals.
Launch A Zoom Background Contest To See Who Is The Most Creative In The Group
When you’re connecting over Zoom for your monthly lunch or happy hour, have a contest to see who can come up with the funniest or most creative background. It’s really easy to add background filters to your screen, so find a couple funny backgrounds and see who gets the most laughs. Let people know of the contest in advance so that they can prepare, and even consider giving out prizes for the winners!
Partner Introductions Or Announcements With A Game
If you’re going to improve your virtual company’s culture with a trivia game, consider some of the add-ons that we offer that can help facilitate team building or enhance your message. You can decide to add an extra 15 minutes onto the start of the trivia event for a welcome speech, company announcement or for our organizer to run an icebreaker event. This can be a nice way to get everyone’s collective attention or have them get to know one another more before the trivia game begins! Click here to learn more about our trivia add-on features.
So if you are looking to boost morale and your company culture, consider booking a virtual trivia game with Bar None Games or trying out some of the above tips. And if you have questions or are interested in learning more, please head over to our booking page so that we can get in touch with you!
